A forum of former parliamentarian who had served at the nation’s legislative chamber from 1979 to date, has formally endorsed the presidential candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahamed Tinubu, describing him as their best choice for presidency.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after holding a crucial meeting at the Government House Kano Wednesday, Spokesman of the forum, Alhaji Adamu Panda, said their choice of Tinubu was premised on the spectacular role he played in transforming Lagos when he served as the governor for two consecutive terms in office.
He added that Timubu also had a myriads of impressive performance to his credit.
According to him, what Nigerians needed at the moment, was one whose capacity to live up to expectation was unquestionable.
He also affirmed that Tinubu was poised to bring unity to the nation devoid of primordial considerations and that the issue of security would be given high priority under his leadership if given the mandate
He, however, stated that the issue of power shift to the South was still sacrosanct, since it was agreed that power should be shifted to the South from the North, after a northerner would have served for eight years.
He posited that with Tinubu’s compassion for the masses at the height of the introduction of the much pronounced cashless policy, he was far different from his rival Alhaji Atiku Abubakar whom he added had supported the policy at the time the common man was suffering.
“As we are addressing you people, we have unanimously taken a stand to support his bid to enter the presidential Villa. his capacity is undoubtedly unquestionable. he is a detribalised Nigerian. we are 100% supporting him to realized his ambition. he himself was a former Senator, his wife he currently serving in the Senate. so, we are from the same constituency” he retorted”.
