Plateau: NDE trains 20 beneficiaries on environment beatification, protection

The director general, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Malam Nuhu Fikpo, has reassured Nigerians of the agency’s commitment to job creation.

Malam Fikpo made the statement Thursday while flagging off a one month training of 20 beneficiaries on Environment Beatification Scheme, under the Special Pubic Works (SPW), held at the Jos office of the directorate.

Represented by the Plateau state coordinator of NDE, Mr. Emmanuel Dimka, Fikpo said the beneficiaries will be supported with a starter pack at the end of the training.

“The Special Public Works is one of the core jobs creating department of the NDE that seeks to exploit employment opportunities that abound in the public sector.

“The Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS), is designed for the training of unemployed school leavers in hard and soft landscaping that leads to the acquisition of skills in erosion control, environmental beautification, protection and sanitation,” he said.

The NDE’s head of department, SPW Jos office, Mr Mike Adeyeye, while appreciating the federal govt for deeming the programme worthy of implementation also encouraged beneficiaries to be attentive.

Some of the beneficiaries, Mr Moses Attah and Mr Haggai Gankais on behalf of others, appreciated the NDE for the opportunity given to them.
