We’ll resist rigging, ballot snatching – Fayemi

Ekiti state people have been urged to resist attempt to rig or snatch ballot boxes during the June 21 governorship election.
Governor Kayode Fayemi stated this yesterday in Ayede-Ekiti, Oye local government area while flagging off his campaign.
Fayemi urged the people in the local government to ensure that they protected their votes at the June 21, governorship poll.

Other communities reached by Fayemi’s campaign train include his hometown, Isan, Ilemeso, Ilafon, Oloje, Itaji, Orisunbare, Imojo, Oye and Ayegbaju where he was met by huge crowds of residents and supporters.
Fayemi, who described election in the area as pivotal to his success at the much- awaited poll, said “once your support is total, then I will have no problem in other places.”

He said: “People from Erinjiyan, Ikole Ekiti and other communities are behind us, so I want you to be vigilant on the day of election. You should not only cast your votes for our party, you should be vigilant to ensure that nobody rigs or snatches the boxes.”
He urged the people not to allow the PDP to return the state to “the dark days, when killing and maiming were the orders of the day.”
“Out of 15 years of democracy in Ekiti, PDP and APC have ruled the state for seven and half years each. Out of the PDP years, about seven governors were produced because of the instability that took over the state. So, we need to be watchful in order not to allow them to reverse the hands of the clock.”
