The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam, has urged managers at the nation’s airports to sustain the current drive for high qualify air navigation service delivery to airlines in line withthe federal government’s transformation agenda.
He made thecharge at the quarterly meeting of the airspace managers from 26 airports across the country held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
He said thatNAMA as an air navigation service provider in the West African sub- region could not afford to lag behind in the provision of quality services if it must berelevant in the 21st century.
Abdulsalamstressed that the management would do everything it could to ensure that most of the glaring operational challenges at the various stations are tackledsystematically to enhance effective operations.
He assuredthe airspace managers that staff welfare would remain the focus of his management adding that “acquisition of modern technology without prerequisitetraining will amount to nothing.”
The managingdirector therefore charged the managers to key to the corporate vision of theagency of becoming one of the leading air navigation service providers in theworld.
Earlier inhis opening speech, the Chairman of the forum, Mr. RemiOlajire remarked that the gathering of the airspace managers would afford them to exchange notes onoperational achievements/challenges and proffer possible solutions whereapplicable.
The hostairspace manager, Mr. Godfrey Abaneme pledged the loyalty and commitment of his colleagues to the new management of the agency and called for aggressiverevenue drive at all the stations to achieve NAMA’s desired corporate goal.
