Police nab 4 robbers, others

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers: Ademola Kareem aka Arrow; Michael Eze aka Mopol, Abraham Kareem and Kelvin Okafor aka century guard; allegedly specialised in terrorising resident of Apo district and its environs.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Peter Okechukwu, stated this in a press release yesterday in Abuja.
The spokesperson said luck ran out of the gang  during an operation on October 24  at Durumi III, when the command’s surveillance team attached to Apo Police Division confronted and apprehended them following information from their victims.

He said members of the syndicate had been previously incriminated in several cases of this nature before their arrest, adding that locally made pistol and short double barrel gun with three live cartridges were recovered from the robbers.
Okechukwu said other items recovered from the suspects include: One Mercedes V/boot car with registration No. BF 788 KRD, One Samsung laptop, Nine wrist watches, two women purses, eight pairs of ear-rings, two hand bags, eleven sets of beads and one necklace.

Similarly, three GSM handsets, U.S Dollars, a pair of eye glass, eight CD plates and assorted charms were also recovered from the suspects.
In a related development, the command also said it raided a criminal den in Jidhu village in Lugbe, Abuja, and arrested five male suspects found to be in possession of dry weeds suspected to be India hemp.
The spokesperson said that the suspects who were found to be ex-convicts include: Innocent Chukwu a.k.a Abasi; Gideon Moses aka fresh; Sunday Patrick aka Cat Ologbo; Abdul Ismail aka Designer and Emmanuel Ukpong.
Okechukwu said that the suspects would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is over.
