Minister summons Giwa, Pinnick again

  Meeting deadlocked, continues today

Minister of Sports/Chairman, National Sports Commission, NSC, Dr Tammy Danagogo yesterday met with two factionalised  president of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Ambassador Chris Giwa and Amaju Pinnick behind closed door.
The meeting which was held at the conference room of the Minister’s office located at the Abuja National stadium however ended in a deadlocked as both parties was unable to shift ground, though it was learnt that the minister ordered the warring parties to sheathe their swords for interest of the country.
Our correspondent gathered that the duo of Giwa and Pinnick told the NSC chieftains yesterday that they would go back and meet their various group before they could come back to the brief him of their resolutions.
The feedback was said to be expected today by the Minister.
Part of what was scooped to be possible recommendation while both factions met the Minister was to consider forgetting their differences and stand in for another election but a reliable source confided in sportswriters that most persons within the Pinnick faction are already opposed to it.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the meeting, Danagogo said “yes I just met with the two groups together and I asked them to find a way of sorting out their differences to enable the country’s football move forward.
“I personally and the entire football loving Nigerians will not like a situation where Nigeria will be banned by FIFA for any reason.”
Earlier while speaking to newsmen on Monday, Giwa had revealed that his faction had made efforts to begin reconciliation process before the September 30 election but their effort met with stiff resistance.
