The senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial district, Abdul-Azeez Nyako, has expressed concern over raising cases of fire incidents in major markets in the North.
Nyako, who expressed the concern in Yola while addressing members of his constituency, said the frequency of fire incidents and their patterns made it look more like act of sabotage against the north.

He said: “Within two months we have fire incidents in Yola, Kaduna, Minna, Gusau, Ngurore, Numan, Birnin Kebbi and Kano town markets just to mention a few of such incidents.
“The incident and pattern makes they whole thing look suspicious as if someone is deliberately trying to ground the economy of the north just like Boko Haram.”

Nyako urged security agencies to look into the matter, adding that marketers and stakeholders also needed to review security of major markets to contain the trend.
While sympathising with the victims of the fire incidents, Nyako urged government at all levels to come to the aid of victims who said were in need to support rebuilt their businesses.

Nyako, who presented a donation of an Ambulance and over 100 motorcycles to his constituency at the occasion, said the ambulance would be presented to Hong Cottage hospital, while the motorcycles would be distributed to some farmers in the seven local government areas of the zone to facilitate their farming activities.
He said he was trying to talk to relevant authorities to see how the total ban on the use of motorcycles in the state could be lifted particularly in areas where there was no more serious security threat.
“We ordered the motorcycles before the total ban by the military for security reason.

“With the gradual improvement of security in the state, I will try and talk to relevant authorities to see how the ban can be reviewed particularly in areas where there are no more activities of insurgents so that our farmers can make maximum use of their motor-cycle for farming activities.”
He lauded the electorate for their support to APC-led government and urged them not to despair as President Muhammadu Buhari was committed to ensuring change for good in the governance of the country.

Speaking at the occasion, the state chairman of APC, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, lauded Nyako and other elected party members in the state for what he described as “quality representation.”
Bilal, who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Samaila Tadawus, also urged the electorate to continue to show support and understanding with APC-led government in its effort to change things for the better.
