The Nasarawa State Urban Development Board (NUDB), says it has provided space for heavy duty trucks in Karu to relocate in order to pave way for the ongoing expansion of road from Abuja to Keffi by the federal government.
The Managing Director of the Board, engineer Wada Mohammed, stated this during a meeting with critical stakeholders, held at Muhammadu Buhari International Market, Karu, Monday.
Blueprint report that the meeting had in attendance heads of all the security agencies, NURTW, NATO, traders and marketers association among others.
The security meeting was essentially to discuss the modalities of the exercise that would be embarked upon in two weeks time to decongest the traffic gridlock often experienced in Mararaba and Masaka areas of Karu Local government.
Mohammed said the stakeholders meeting was necessitated to determine the status of the plazas along Mararaba-Abuja road in order to decongest it for the smooth work on the road.
He called on the truck drivers to urgently relocate to the space provided to them by the board, warning them that anyone caught disobeying the law will be dealt with thoroughly in order to serve as deterrent to others.
He then used the medium to commend the state governor, Eng. Abdullahi Sule, for making the zone as well as the entire state a promised land to all.
He called on citizens to support the governor to enable him sustain the temple.
The participants on their parts particularly the heads of the security out fits, associations as well as traditional rulers commended the effort of the board under the leadership of engineer Mohammed Wada for coming up with the idea of the security meeting ahead of the commencement of the work, pledging to give their full supports in implementing the project.
