Idris commends Kebbi workers for dedication, discipline

The Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris,  has said workers in the state are performing their duties with utmost sense of dedication and discipline without being found wanting.

He made the comment in Birnin Kebbi at the opening of a three- day training workshop on basic accounting principles and application for cashiers and finance clerks of the 21 local government areas of the state.

“I will continue to enhance the wellbeing of workers with relevant welfare packages, training and retraining. I have maintained prompt and regular payment of salaries, pensions and gratuity to all categories of civil servants. I commend workers for their dedication and positive attitude to work,” he stated.

On the issue of N615, 000 minimum wage, Governor Idris stated that as a veteran labour leader, the NLC might demand what it deemed fit for workers, but the organised labour should wait for the outcome of the negotiation committee deliberating on the matter set up by the federal government.

In his remark, the chairman, Kebbi state Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Mansur Shehu, said the training would impart appropriate knowledge into the participants on modern accounting procedures and switch over from analogue to digital process.
