Kano emir tasks FG on sports, youths devt

Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu II, has called on the federal government to consider sports as ways and means of providing job opportunities to unemployed youths.
Speaking when he received the Minister of Youths and Sports, Chief Solomon Dalung, at his palace in Kano yesterday, Sanusi said developing youths would be a major catalyst towards developing the country as a promising economic and political super power in Africa, adding that neglecting youths would be a bad omen for democracy.
He noted that the country was passing through a critical stage of national development in the face of competing demands, pointing out that the Muhammadu Buhari administration was making efforts to better the lot of youths.

He said youths were known to be the genuine champions of change as it had been the prevailing trend all over the globe, stressing that developing and harnessing their potentials would greatly hasten the quest for national development.
Speaking earlier, the Minister of Youths and  Sports, Chief Solomon Dalung, told the monarch that he was at his palace to seek his royal blessing on how to effectively empower the youths to forge ahead adding that the Buhari administration was ever ready to explore more avenues of  supporting youths to excel.
