Inabelu wins sprint double in YSFON/CFASF-Kad school

Wealth Inabelu of GSS Zuba, Abuja ran a blistering 11.05secs and 22.64secs to win the boys 100m and 200m races respectively at the 6th Annual Kaduna Schools Athletics Championship at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna. 

The athletics championship organised by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) in collaboration with Coach Felix Academic & Sports Foundation, CFASF Kaduna saw Ameer Usman of Foundation Science School, Zaria win the 100m silver in 11.18s, as Agada Moses of Command Secondary School, Kaduna won bronze in 11.56s. Wealths’ GSS Zuba school mates, Benedict Okerafor and Orji Lucky ran 23.44s and 23.53s respectively to win the 200m silver and bronze medals. 

Miracle Ezechukwu of Nigerian Turkish International School swept the girls double sprint medals. Miracle ran 12.00s to win the 100m race beating Alheri Adamu of Royal Family Academy, Abuja (12.69s) and Mueze Zoko of Foundation Science School, Zaria, (13.99s). In the 200m, Miracle ran 25.38s to complete her double as Zoko and Adamu also doubled their podium appearances, with Mueze Zoko winning silver in 26.54s and Alheri Adamu running 27.28s to win bronze. 

Faruq Kazeem of Foundation Science School, Zaria won the boys 400m in 52.34s, Benedict Okerafor of GSS Zuba win silver in 52.47s and Orji Lucky also of GSS Zuba won bronze in 53.16s. The girls 400m was won by Juliet Emmanuel of Foundation Science School, Zaria in 60.13s, Mercy Audu of GSS Zuba won silver in 60.29s, while Godiya James of GSS Sabo ran 60.34s to win bronze. 

Command Secondary School, Kaduna won the boys 4x100m relay in 47.85s ahead of Government Secondary School, Abuja (49.25s) and Demonstration School, Kaduna (49.25s). Foundation Science School, Zaria won the 4x100m girls relay in 54:31s, beating Royal Family Academy, Abuja (54.97s) and Government Secondary School, Abuja. 

The boys 4x400m relay was won by Command Secondary School, Kaduna in 4m:03:06s, Demonstration School, Kaduna was second in 4m:03:06s, as Redeemers School, Kaduna cane third in 4m:24:54s. Foundation Science School, Zaria made it a golden girls relay double winning the girls 4x400m in 4m:33:68s ahead of Royal Family Academy, Abuja (4m:27:84s) and Command Secondary School, Kaduna (4m:51:99s).

Foundation Science School, Zaria emerged overall winner with 11 gold, 3 silver 1 bronze medals, GSS Zuba, Abuja was second with 4 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze medals, while Command Secondary School, Kaduna came third with 2 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals. NTIC Abuja won 2 golds, Royal Family Academy, Abuja won 5 silver 1 bronze medals, Redeemers School, Kaduna won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals and Demonstration School, Kaduna won 1 silver, 3 bronze medals.
