Why we expelled Choice FC from Youth League -Ogunnowo

The Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) has disclosed that Choice Football Club of Ado-Ekiti was expelled from the Youth League for violating its rules and regulation of the body with immediate effect and to serve as detterent to others.

“We took the decision following report we had from our coordinators at the Akure centre of the on-going Nationwide Youth League for U-19”

A correspondence from the NLO Media Department made available to Blueprint Sport cited the Center Coordinator and the match officials report, that Choice FC voluntarily withdrew from the ongoing league without any reason and notification.

The singular action has a series of negative impact on the integrity of the league and other participating clubs as well; thus, the Nationwide League One Secretariat hereby wishes to draw the attention of Choice FC to the implications as clearly stated in the NLO rules and regulations.

The NLO rule book states in article 2.06 (4), that No Club can withdraw after the commencement of the season. If a club withdraws; it shall be expelled from the competition and will not be eligible for readmission. All officials of such clubs shall be banned for (2) years.

Sequel to the above, Choice FC is hereby expelled from the Nationwide League One and all the Officials registered with Nationwide League One Secretariat are hereby banned for two (2) Years from football activities.

This decision shall be communicated to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for nationwide ban and possibly to CAF and FIFA.
