Breaking: Jumbo pay for Judicial officers as Tinubu proposes N57.8m annual pay for CJN

After many years of being remunerated on old salary scale, judicial officers in Nigeria, are set to receive salaries and allowances on new scale as proposed by President Bola Tinubu.

In the proposal treated as executive bill and passed for second reading by the Senate on Thursday, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kayode Ariwoola, will earn a total of N57.889million as annual salary and N80.775miillion as severance package on retirement.

Other judicial officers from the Supreme Court down to the Magistrates , are also enjoy the jumbo emolument packages which as clearly stated in the Executive Bill, takes effect from 1st January, 2024.
