This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Okasanmi Ajayi.

He said the command had activated its assets, both men and materials, available to the command to ensure that its lofty security plans for the celebrations are achieved.

The statement reads: “Kwara state Police command wishes to assure the good people of Kwara state of its readiness to ensure peaceful and enjoyable Christmas celebrations throughout the length and breadth of the state.

“In achieving this fit, the command has imposed some security measures, which include massive deployments of men and materials in and around public utilities and all government’s assets, aggressive motorised and foot patrols, stop and search operations, and continuous raids on black spots.

“In this regard, the command wishes to solicit the cooperation and understanding of all and sundry in making this plan a reality. This could be done by reporting any suspicious movement in and around our environments to the police and giving information to the police at all times.”
