Bombed Imo INEC headquarters under reconstruction

Barely one week after gunmen bombed the Imo state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Owerri, the affected parts of the commission are being reconstructed.

When Blueprint visited the office last Tuesday, labourers were seen working round the clock to ensure that everything was put in place in a few days’ time.

The fence of the premises was being raised to ensure adequate security, while the long building where notices are often pasted was being re-roofed.

Again, some of the offices in the main building housing the office of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, that of the Public Relations Officer (PRO), and some administrative staff were being renovated.
