WAFU U17: Golden Eaglets face Ghana for 3rd place cracker

The Golden Eaglets will battle for what could prove to be an important third place at the WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifiers against hosts Ghana, who will without a coach after he quit in dramatic fashion.

The Black Starlets failed to reach the final of the tournament leading to the resignation of coach Laryea Kingston.

Former international announced his resignation and got off the team bus on its way back to the team hotel after they fell 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the semifinal Saturday night.

Officials said that for Tuesday’s third-place match, which could produce another qualifier for the U17 AFCON, the team’s assistant coaches supported by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) technical director will take charge.
