One year anniversary: CSO gives Tinubu’s administration pass mark

The Nigeria First Project, a civil society organisation, which seeks delivery on campaign promises and citizens participation in governance, has given President Bola Tinubu-led administration a pass mark, saying he has been delivering on his campaign promises.

The CSO, which stated this at a press conference to mark the first anniversary of the Tinubu administration, expressed happiness, that so far, “Mr. President is implementing his Renewed Hope Agenda faithfully and diligently.”

In a press statement issued by the Coordinator, Hamza Umar Saulawa, and Comrade Bishir Dauda Sabuwar Unguwa Katsina, Director, Research and Documentation, the group said it relied on data, sources reports of ministerial briefings, analysis in the media among others to arrive at its position.

The group thumbed up President Tinubu and identified his administration’s great feats in areas like defence, education, housing and urban development, social safety net programmes, anti-corruption, governance among others.

It reads in part: “We have gathered data through Desk Review in which we massively consulted secondary sources, such as Newspaper Reports, Magazine analysis, electronic media, social media, Citizens’ Delivery Tracker, onsite visits, ministerial briefings, among others, on the critical sectors, such as defence, education, housing, social safety net programmes and anti-corruption, and we have concluded that the president has done very well.

“This in our opinion goes contrary to the entrenched tradition of some politicians who promised one thing before election and Implement another thing after election.

“We therefore, salute President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s courage to continue to stick to his manifestoes  in spite of the hullabaloo mostly amplified out of proportion by  some politicians and critics of the administration.

“We have noticed how Mr. President is being responsive and sensitive to the complaints of great Nigerian Citizens, and the measures he has taken to ameliorate the suffering of the common man.

“On the other hand, we must equally salute Nigerians for their resilience in the face of nation-building challenges.

“However, we have confidence in the efficacy of the Renewed Hope Agenda, and sincerity of purpose of Mr. President. And we are positive that Nigeria is in safe hands, heading for a greater future.

“In defence, the Tinubu’s administration has recorded tremendous success in addressing some of the major security challenges in the country, employing holistic approach in tackling all forms of insecurity.”
