Yobe to construct roads damaged during last raining season

Yobe state government through the state ministry of works has embarked on the Construction of all the damage roads during the last raining season in the state.

This was made known Thursday by the state Commissioner ministry for works, Engineer Umaru wakil while briefing journalist in Damaturu.

The works Commissioner noted that, Governor Mai Mala Buni rightly swung in to action by completing all ongoing projects initiated by his predecessor and further continue to initiate the Construction of more roads, bridges drainages, culverts across the entire state.

He stated that the affected roads to be reconstructed were 45km Baimari-yunusari road, 18 Jajimaji-Karasuwa road, Yunusari-kafiya-kanamma road, 32km Geidam-Bukarti road among other roads and bridges that were cut off during the last raining season in the state.

“All the paper work has been done for the construction and reconstruction of these roads.

“Also matching order to all higher institutions in the state to be connected with the main road to the administration block as well as hostels. Government Ministries, Department and Agencies as well as parking space were among the plan by the state government to be connected with roads in the state”, he said.

He said 10 km township roads and drainage would be constructed Damaturu , 4.2 roads and drainages in Potiskum and Nguru 3.3 km roads, drainages, Gashua with 3.2 km township roads and drainages and Geidam with 4.6 km roads and drainages respectively.

He said, the governor Buni’s concern to venture into infrastructural development in the state in spite of the merger  resources at his disposal may not be unconnected with his zeal and enthusiasm to improve the living standards of the citizen both socially and economically.
