INEC reveals number of Nigerians to vote during 2023 general elections

The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that about 87.2 million Nigerians are expected to vote during the 2023 general elections out of the 93.4 million registered voters

The chairman of the commission, Mahmood Yakubu, made this known in a briefing on Thursday.

According to him, Lagos leads in the number of collected PVCs with 6,214,970.

This is closely followed by Kano with 5,594,193, and Kaduna with 4,164, 473.

The current voter register has over 94 million voters.

But the INEC boss stated that the Commission will continue to clean it up with technology going forward.

He said there are 93.3 percent of the total registered voters in the country with about 6.2 million registered voters failing to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).
