Yero re-builds 45 schools, builds 36 hospitals

Kaduna state government has completely rehabilitated 45 schools while work is ongoing on several others, the state government is also building 36 hospitals across the state, to improve standard of education and reduce maternal and child mortality in the state.
The Director General to Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna state on Media and Publicity, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said this while enumerating the achievements of the governor in the last two years during an interactive session with members of the Correspondent Chapel of the NUJ Kaduna state council.

He said the state government has achieved a touch of peace and security and has significantly improved the infrastructural facilities at its tertiary institutions leading to the accreditation of the School of Midwifery to train nurses and award certificates and the approval of College of Education, Gidan Waya, as a degree-awarding institution.
He said: “The state government has recruited 1, 800 teachers for its secondary schools. Government provided infrastructure at Kaduna State University  main campus and its annex in Kafanchan and Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnics Zaria. The second batch of students are being prepared for overseas scholarship in Europe and Asia.

“The results of all interventions are already showing with the state placing third in the last WAEC examination behind Lagos and Ed states, the next state from the North is Kano state that placed 11th. Students of Kaduna state government schools represented Nigeria at the world debate and quiz competition at the university of Bangkok Thailand.
“Kaduna state has not recorded any case of polio since Governor Yero assumed office, thus World Health Organisation would soon declare the state polio free, same with other child killer diseases. Kaduna state has so far treated 232 women suffering from Vesico Virginal Fistula free, while they are also trained on skill and empowerment to make them self reliant.
“After activating part of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) facility, government is procuring equipment to complete the 300-bed Millennium Hospital. There was also free surgery for 1,450 people across the state.”
