The wife of Ebonyi state governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru Friday said her foundation, “Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation” (BERWO) would on May 27, 2024 flag off free medical treatment on HPV and surgery on Hernia patients.
Mrs. Nwifuru noted that the free medical treatment will be in collaboration with the state Primary healthcare agency.
The Governor’s wife disclosed this during the official inauguration of the pet project Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation (BERWO) committee at Ebiaji, Ezza North local government area of the state.
She however explained that BERWO covers different ares of human need, both in Education, Agriculture, Gender Based Violence among others.
She said, “My pet project BERWO in collaboration with Ebonyi state primary healthcare agency is about to flag off an important campaign “HPV” on May 27, 2024.And I urge our women to use the opportunity to take care of their health and that of their children.
“The foundation has also commenced enrollment of people living with Hernia in the 13 local government areas of the state with the intention of carrying out a free surgery on them.
“We don’t want our men especially the older ones to be carrying this growth with them, we want a healthy society were everybody will be free. So if you know anyone with this ailment advice him to come out so that he can be treated”.
Chairman of the local government council, Chief Moses Ogodoali commended Mrs. Nwifuru and promised support of the LGA to the project.
He disclosed that the LGA before the inauguration of BERWO had engaged in healthcare programs, empowerment programs for both women and the youths, and other programs similar to what the first lady’s program preaches.
Also, the State Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Dr. Ngozi Obichukwu has called on Ezza people to support the government of Rt. Hon.Francis Nwifuru and the wife.
“I’m encouraged that Ezza people will be more united even more than how we were before. You know, when you have a good diamond or Gold. Gold must pass through fire before it becomes gold. What Ezza’s are experiencing now, is what is going to come out of Ezza in the near future.
“The governor, Francis Nwifuru is so much tireless to ensure that Ezza’s becomes what they want to be. So that peace will eventually and its already on. He is a man of peace,the wife is a woman of peace. And she has stood on the platform of peace in this inauguration of her pet project.
“And I urge my people, Ezza’s to grab this opportunity that is given to us through this divine wonderful government and get us united and focus, so that we will achieve what we are suppose to achieve as the first born of this Ebonyi state.
“Political, socially and otherwise, Ezza has been the first son of Ebonyi State. We have more better future with governor Francis Nwifuru, who is making it possible for us to achieve that which we have hungered for. We have longed fo it, we longed to be at the apex, and believe you me, we will get to the apex with our dear governor, Francis Nwifuru” she stressed”. END
