Taskforce kills petrol hawker at Banex

Following the ban on hawking of fuel in jerry can by tout, the security task force on has killed one of hawkers at Banex bus stop, last Friday.
Witnesses said the task force team on routine patrol in the area, accosted some of the hawkers, shot into the air, while they dispersed, running into different direction.

‘When the hawkers say the task force, the fled, living their fuel and the task force approached them while shooting but, as soon as the team moved, they petrol hawkers threw stones at the patrol vehicle.
“The patrol team reversed their vehicle and while shooting into the air, a stray bullet hit one of the hawkers, who died on the spot and his corpse was conveyed into the patrol team and they zoomed off to an unknown destination”, the eyewitness disclosed.
It will be recalled that the Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, had said the command arrested petrol hawking.

“Members of the public should note that the dangers associated with the activities of these miscreants outweigh its benefits.
“This exercise will be a continuous one. Those arrested will soon be arraigned,” Inalegwu said.
