Sports ministry signs performance mgt scorecard, charges staff on implementation 

In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubus’ Renewed Hope Agenda, the Federal Ministry of Sports Development has signed the Ministry’s Performance Management System (MPMS) and Employee Performance Managment (EPMS) Score Card, charging the staff to be more productive with the view to achieving the deliverables of the Ministry for the period 2024-2025.  

The signing of the scorecard took place at a two-day retreat organised by the Ministry for Senior Management Officers ,with the Theme, “Towards Ensuring Strategic Performance Delivery” 

This signifies that the Ministry has accepted to work in line with the new Civil Service Rules and strategies to achieve an Effective, productive and incorruptible citizen centered workforce, in delivering its mandate.

The Minister Senator John Owan Enoh in his closing remarks during the retreat, charged participants to see the government Initiative (Performance Management System) as a serious business that will form the the basis for staff performance assessment in their various offices.

The Performance Management System is aimed at enhancing and sustaining a performance oriented culture among Civil Servants for the workability and achievements of the eight-point Agenda of the President as it relates to the MDAs.

Senator Owan Enoh reiterated that it is time to reposition the sports sector for a better service delivery and to work collectively to actualize the Renewed Hope of the President

Earlier in her speech, the Permanent Secretary commended the Minister for his visionary leadership which contributed to the success of the retreat.

According to her, the Retreat became necessary to reposition the ministry on its mandate especially with the de-merge from the Ministry of Youth Development  there is need to keep the vision  alive.
