Boniface on song as Leverkusen end Bundesliga season in historic fashion

Victor Boniface was on target as Bayer Leverkusen defeated visiting Augsburg 2-1 in their final league game on Saturday.

The win means Leverkusen are the first side in history to complete an entire Bundesliga season unbeaten.

They played 34 matches, recorded 28 wins, six draws with no defeat.

Also, they scored 89 goals, conceded 24 and kept 16 clean Sheets.

Boniface opened the scoring on 12 minutes before Robert Andrich made it 2-0 on 27 minutes.

Augsburg pulled a goal back through Mert Komur on 62 minutes but Leverkusen held on to claim the historic win.

Boniface ended the Bundesliga season with 14 goals, eight assists in 23 games.

Nathan Tella, who was benched against Augsburg, had five goals, made two assists in 24 league games.

Up next for Leverkusen is the final of the German Cup and Europa League finals against Kaiserslautern and Atalanta respectively.
