Re: Sadiyya Farouk should steer clear of Bauchi politics

Recently, some political jobbers who are obviously not happy with the success of Ambassador Sadiq Baba Abubakar at the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary election held on 26th May, 2022, have found an enterprise in making jest of the family of the APC governorship candidate in Bauchi state.

This is certainly contrary to the thoughts of men of conscience who are knowledgeable in the laws of both God and man which identify marriage as not only personal and spiritual, but also the beginning of everything that is beneficial to mankind.

Thus, it is worrisome, in the truest meaning of the word, that the political jobbers have gone as far as attempting to infringe on the rights of the candidate’s wife, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Sadiyya Umar Farouk. To the chagrin of many, they feel she does not have the right to participate in the politics of the state.

As an indigene of Bauchi state, however, this is tantamount to violating the minister’s constitutional rights to associate, express her opinions, have ambitions and pursue such ambitions to fruition. More so, it directly contradicts the principles of marriage, both in terms of religion and culture, for anyone to try to deny her the right to support her husband who is pursuing a legitimate ambition.

As a supportive and good wife, it is certainly incumbent on her and also within her jurisdiction to mobilise whatever legitimate resources with a view to gearing them towards the success of the candidature of Ambassador Sadiq Baba Abubakar.

Therefore, full aware of her constitutional rights, the Honourable Minister is obviously too big to be intimidated into jettisoning her matrimonial responsibilities by anyone in the name of politics. After all, she is an astute politician whose political influence has reached all corners of Nigeria.
