Ramadan: Lawmaker distributes 700 bags of rice in Bauchi

The Member representing Ningi/ Warji federal constituency of Bauchi state Hon. Abdullahi Sa’ad Abdulkadir has distributed 700 bags of rice, sugar and gallons of oil to the people of the two local governments in order to cushion their hardships during this fasting month of Ramadan.


Distributing the food stuffs Thursday, the lawmaker said the gesture was also meant to encourage the beneficiaries to stay at home as part of social distancing policy aimed at containing the spread of coronavirus in the constituency.


“I want people to know that we cannot feed everyone looking at the size of this constituency, I therefore appeal to every well to do people to also contribute their quota in helping the less privileged ones.


“These bags of rice, Sugar and some gallons of vegetable oil will be shared across all polling units in the two local governments”. He said.


The Lawmaker urged the constituents to minimize unnecessary movements in order to prevent themselves from being infected with the  COVID-19 virus.


Responding, one of the beneficiaries Aminu Sama’ila Limi, appreciated the effort of the house of representatives member for reaching out to them at this time saying it would bring succour to them. 


He also lauded the legislator for extending the gesture to even members of the opposition in the area.
