Plateau state House of Assembly yesterday described as “condemnable and barbaric acts” the bombings in Jos, last Sunday, which claimed dozens of lives.
The members gave the condemnation when they deliberated on a matter of urgent public interest raised by Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan, Jos North-North Constituency.
Hassan frowned on the banned activities of motorcycles, whom he said “have been gradually returning into full operation.”

He urged the security agencies to intensify their efforts towards ensuring safety and security of the people.
Supporting the motion, the member representing Kantana constituency, Hon.Yusuf Adamu Gatdi, also condemned the act, noting that the law banning commercial motorcycles should be re-enforced to ensure the security and safety of the people of the state.

In his contribution, the member representing Jos East, Hon. Joshua Izang Madaki, put up a motion, saying that “there is the need for checkpoints to be re-mounted for proper checks.”
He further urged the House to seek the governor’s approval to forward the copy of the House resolution to the President seeking the re-erection of security check points within the state.
