Ogun APC congratulates Osoba at 80

The Ogun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the former governor of the state and a chieftain of the party, Chief Segun Osoba on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The party described him as “an epitome of integrity and service.”

In a statement signed by the publicity secretary of the caretaker committee, Tunde Oladunjoye, the party commended the former governor for his contributions to the development of the state and Nigeria at large.

The statement read in part: “As a leader, you (Osoba) have demonstrated uncommon passion for mentoring and actualisation of common goals for the benefit of the greater majority,” the statement said.

The party described the octogenarian as “the pillar the party rested on when it was not only abandoned, but also confronted by the party’s biggest beneficiary in the last eight years.

“Baba (Osoba) was harassed, abused and insulted, but he stood firm and demonstrated the good attributes of a genuine statesman by insisting on principles of fairness, collectivity and supremacy of the party, thereby piloting the party to a resounding victory despite the enormous challenges faced”.
