A non-governmental organisation, Concern Nigeria Youth Development Organisation, (CNYDO), yesterday, commended Sen. Godswill Akpabio, over his positive impact on youth development.
This was the assertion of National Coordinator of the CNYDO, Joel Edegba, while appraising impact of Akpabio since he was elected the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District.
According to Edegba, the welfare of youth in the senatorial district has improved as a result of the commitment demonstrated by the Senator through constituency projects and programmes initiated, including his personal contact with them.
He said: “The Concerned Nigerian Youth Development Organisation, CNYDO, is keen on assessing project with positive development of young people across the country in order as part of efforts to encourage others to emulate.
“We also assess positive impact of elected officers on young people in the area of capacity building and empowerment. With what we have seen so far after the three years of Senator Godswill Akpabio representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, the impact has been enormous.
“Sen Akpabio has been a lover of young people and has committed enough resources to take young people to the next level. We commend him for his lofty impact on youth in Akwa Ibom State and beyond.”
According to Edegba, the senator has special love for the future of young people and he promised that CYNDO would support projects by the Senator that would impact lives of young people.
“We have been keenly watching His Excellency and his projects, programmes, policies and personality for some time now. We’ve seen that he has the youth at heart based on his continued support to them, with the aim of shaping their future for greater impact on developing the state.
“We will use our structures across the country to help him actualize his dreams on the young people who have the talent, strength, and passion to contribute to development of the country and add value to their lives.
“Also we enjoin youth in his senatorial district to appreciate and support his laudable projects and support him instead of being ungrateful and act contrary to personalities like Sen. Akpabio that means well for them”, he added.
