The Sultan of Sokoto and President General Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar lll has advised the Muslim Ummah to look for new moon of Sha’aban today and report to the nearest moon sighting committee within their area.
This was contained in a press release issued and made available to newsmen Friday evening by chairman of the committee, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu.
The statement read thus: “This is to inform Muslims Ummah that tomorrow Saturday being 10th February 2024 which is equivalent to 29th day of Rajab 1445 shall be the day to look for the new moon of Sha’aban 1445 AH
“Muslims are therefore requested to start looking for the new moon of Rajab 1445 on Saturday and report its sighting to the nearest District Head for onward communication to His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar CFR mni, the Sultan of Sokoto.”
