Lalong reappoints Abdullahi Plateau pilgrims board executive secretary

Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong has approved the reappointment of Barrister Auwal Abdullahi as the executive secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

The governor in a statement issued by his director of press and public affairs, Dr. Makut Macham, also named new chairman and members of the board.

The statement said retired Justice Yakubu Idris is the board chairman while Dan’asabe Yerima, Alhaji Abdurrazaq Muhammad, Alhaji Lawal Usman, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad, and Alhaji Alhassan Ayiki are members.

Others, he said, are Alhaji Ado Shigi, Alhaji Muhammad Adamu, Alhaji Rabiu Yahaya Jingir and Alhaji Salisu Joro respectively.

Governor Lalong applauded the board executive secretary, Auwal Abdullahi, for “achieving an uncommon feat of transparency, accountability and returning of huge millions of naira, unspent amount to the coffers of government in 2018.”

Similarly, the governor approved the appointment of Rev. George Gorap, as executive secretary of the state Christian Pilgrims Board, with Rev. Kooper Ernest, as chairman of the board.

Also appointed are; Nde Lar Yilwadat, Mr. Wuyep Danladi, Mr. Thomas Funbial, Rev. Titus Pwanwang, Mr. Gyang Bot  and Mr. Raphael Zira as members.
