Lagos: Obasa drums support for Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu

Speaker of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has urged Nigerians to vote en masse for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the party’s governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the general elections that come up February 25.

He expressed optimism that Nigerians will experience a better time, if Tinubu is elected as president.

Hon Obasa said this in his New Year message, Sunday, while congratulating Nigerians for witnessing the end of the year 2022 and the beginning of the year 2023.

Obasa, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, explained that less than two months to the general elections,  it is only the APC presidential candidate that is  better positioned to succeed President  Muhammadu Buhari, whose  tenure expires on May 29, 2023.

According to him Tinubu is the only hope Nigerians have for a better country, judging from the positive result of the foundation the former governor of Lagos state laid in the state between 1999 and 2007.

Obasa commended Lagosians for ensuring continuity in governance of the state, adding that consistency in electing candidates from the progressives  camp has helped Lagos to develop, making it an attractive state.

“Lagos has become a reference point for other states and some African countries, because of the structures that had been put in place since 1999 to mitigate perceived or projected challenges that may face  the massively growing city. We have maintained proactiveness as a government.

“We now have a State that has become very attractive to investors, and those seeking better life because of our people-oriented policies, as well as the synergy among the three arms of government.

“For the avoidance of doubt, this is what Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu wants to replicate at the centre, to build a Nigeria where equity would become the norm.”
