A member of the House of Representatives representing Albasu Gaya, and Ajingi federal constituency, Dr. Ghali Mustapha Tijjan, has empowered his constituents with food items and cash grants worth N320 million.
A statement issued by Tijjan’s media office on Monday stated that the lawmaker distributed 3600 bags of rice, 6000 bags of Millet, 6000 bags of maize, 60 schools of nursing scholarships, and the distribution of N20m to the youths and women in his constituency.
The statement added that the lawmaker also unveiled his work and action plans for the year 2024 at the event held at the Gaya Local Government area of Kano state.
It stated further that food items were distributed to 18,000 individuals who benefited from his gesture, adding that 1,000 youths were empowered with a cash grant of ₦20,000 each, totaling ₦20,000,000, while 60 female students were granted full sponsorship to pursue nursing studies.
The statement quoted Tijjan as reassuring his constituents that the initiative marked the commencement of his first-quarter projects and pledged to continue fulfilling his campaign promises with subsequent endeavors.
“I am pleased to unveil my 2024 roadmap and action plan. Today, we have distributed palliatives worth ₦320 million. In the upcoming quarter, we will empower farmers, followed by youth empowerment with skills and equipment in the third quarter.
“Finally, in the fourth quarter, we will commission all constituency projects. We have already facilitated job opportunities and enhanced community infrastructure by installing solar street lights and repairing boreholes. We remain committed to the Kwankwasiyya mandate”, he said.
The Kano state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Kano South, Alhaji Wada Daho, commended Tijjan’s efforts at empowering his constituents and urged them to support both his initiatives and that of the state government.
