How my son was killed by notorious thug- Gusau

Resident of Damba area in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital Monday evening was thrown into confusion following the killing of a police officer identified as Abdulrahman Lawali by one Adage Muktari, a notorious thug in the area.

The uncle of the deceased police officer identified as Engineer Yusuf Gusau in an interview with Blueprint said the incident happened during Ramadan fasting break around 6:50 pm when his brother went to the shop and purchased a loaf of bread and a bottle of mineral.

When my Son asked him why he was looking at him disrespectfully Muktar answered himangrilly. They then engaged themselves in fighting in which Muktar took a heavy firewood and hit him on his head and slammed him dead instantly,” Gusau said.

Gusau appealed to relevant authorities concerned, particularly the police and court to ensure justice prevails by prosecuting the culprit over his dastardly act against his brother.

“We are appealing to all authorities concerned to as a matter of urgency convict the culprit based on the provision of the ambit of the law and ensure justice prevails as a deterrent to others,” he said.

It would be recalled that on 15th June, 2020, Police in Zamfara state arrested a middle-aged man, Aminu Bala, who allegedly raped and murdered his elder brother’s wife, Mallam Hauwau Iliyasu, in her matrimonial home in the same Damba area of Gusau metropolis.

Confirming the incident, the police spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, said the suspect has been arrested by the Police and investigation is ongoing.
