Fatal crash claim many lives along Kaduna-Kano highway

At least 13 persons were on Tuesday confirmed killed in a fatal motor accident along Kaduna-Kano highway, with several other passengers sustaining various degrees of injury.


The accident involved a Kano bound Macopolo luxury bus and four other smaller vehicles, according to eyewitnesses.
Blueprint correspondent gathered that the auto crash occurred around a village called Jar-marmara in Ikara local government area of Kaduna state.


An eyewitness who identified himself as Malam Sani Haruna said, “The luxurious bus lost control and collided with four cars, in which 16 people died on the spot. The four cars were condemned (irrecoverable, damaged beyond repairs).” 
It was gathered that, the luxury bus left Lagos heading to Kano on Monday evening before getting involved in the ill-fated accident in the early hours of Tuesday between Zaria and Kano, some kilometres to its destination. 


Many of passengers on the luxury bus, who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment. 
Kaduna Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Hafiz Mohammed, when contacted, confirmed the incident and the casualty figures.
