The deputy Governor of Nasarawa state, a former Senator and a first generation bank chief were among those who graced the quiz competition and awards ceremony held at Government Secondary School (G.S.S) Aloce, Nasarawa state, over the weekend.
Represented by a legislator, Hon. Adamu Niga, the deputy governor as well as ex-Senator Solomon Ewuga and a former Commissioner for Information, Victoria Titi Monde, amongst others, lauded Rev. Lawrence Soja Anyembugu for instituting the innovative quiz and prize giving ward.

Anyembugu, the Parish Priest of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, New Nyanya, Nasarawa State, said he was inspired to organize the well attended event as a way of giving back to the school from which he graduated 20 years ago
Spiced with traditional dance, the quiz competition saw the winners smiling home with various prizes, even as books were distributed to all the students for free. Among the Old boys of the school who travelled from far – flung places to witness the event were layers, medical doctors, engineers, and bankers, including the Suleija branch manager of First Bank of Nigeria Plc.

Ewuga and the principal of G.S.S. Aloce, Mulkus Mado, among others commended the cleric for undertaking such a noble gesture.
Meanwhile, barely a few hours after the event the priest lost his father, Syvester Affi Umaru Anyembugu to the cooled hand of death. He was buried at his residence in Dadin Kowa along Abuja – Akwanga express way last weekend, after the mass at St. Peter Parish, Keffi.
