The group under the leadership of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),  made the call yesterday in Abuja at a forum tagged “Think Nigeria”.

In a welcome address, Pastor Oritdejafor said: “We are happy with the on-going national Conference which Mr. President inaugurated last Monday. We are all pursuing justice, equity, love and understanding which will ultimately usher in lasting peace in Nigeria”.
Similarly, Imam Nurah Ashafa of the Kaduna Central Mosque urged Christians and Muslims to live in peace and unity in the country.

In a paper presentation, Prof. Mohammed Al-Amin, Chairman of Islamic Research and Resource Centre identified the major problem confronting Nigeria as religious and ethnic discrimination.

According to Prof. Al-Amin, the book was written 20 years ago as a post-graduate thesis on Environmental pollution in the Nige Delta.

He said: I was encouraged by Major Al-Mustapha to embark on the research work as a way of promoting ethnic unity in the country against family’s approval”.
