Christmas: Al-Makura felicitates with christians, commissions projects in rural areas


The Senator representing Nasarawa south senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, have felicitated with christians as they celebrate Christmas. Senator Al-Makura urged christians in the state to exhibit love which is the reason for christmas celebration.
In a statement signed by his chief press secretary Danjuma Joseph, and issued to journalists on Thursday, in Lafia, Senator Al-Makura who is the immediate past governor of Nasarawa state prayed for a fruitful and successful year 2021 even as he urged his constituents to remain peaceful with one another.


Meanwhile, Senator Almakura has commissioned solar power electricity in some communities and public boarding schools across the five local government areas of the zone.


The senator who was represented by Ambassador designate, Henry Omaku, stated that the initiative to provide solar power electricity in the communities was borne out of his desire to give people in rural areas some sense of belonging.
Al-Makura called on the benefitting communities to take ownership of the project to serve the purpose it was meant for.


The benefitting communities and schools are Azara, Adudu, Agwatashi, Arikya, GGSS Keana and GGSS Doma.
Members of the benefitting communities who couldn’t hide their joy thanked Senator Almakura for the gesture, and called on other elected and appointed representatives to emulate him.
