As pressure mounts on tenure extension: Buhari meets IGP Idris behind closed doors


President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met behind closed-doors with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris. 

The meeting which held shortly after Friday prayers at the President’s office lasted for few minutes.

No official position was released on what transpired at the meeting but presidential sources said it might not be unconnected with tenure of the IGP.

IGP Idris clocked mandatory retirement age of 35 years in service on Thursday, January 3, 2013. 

There are speculations that the might likely have his tenure extended till after the February elections.
