Anambra bans construction of road breakers, bumps

The Anambra state government has said its ban on construction of bumps and road breakers on constructed roads was irreversible.

The state commissioner for Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor, who disclosed this shortly after inspecting level of work done at the ongoing reconstruction of Isuaiocha Mgbakwu road in Awka North Local Government Area, urged communities desirous of road breakers to seek approval from the ministry.

According to Ifejiofor, the ban was an executive decision aimed at preventing damage of roads which he said it often reduce life span of roads built by government.

He further expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of work done at the Isuaniocha-Mgbakwu road, stressing that the six point two kilometer road contract awarded to Golden Fingers Construction Company about two years ago would be completed in order to connect the agrarian communities and the entire council area to the capital city.

Earlier, the Contractor handling the project,  Mr Luke Aniakor, while thanking the state government, assured that the road would be completed before the rains set in proper.
