Kaduna: Private school owners disown ‘rapist’ member

National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Kaduna state chapter has disowned a proprietor of Liberation College, Tirkania in Chikun LGA of Kaduna state, Mr Samuel Ejikeme.
Ejikeme was alleged to have raped a nine-year old pupil of the school, but Chairman of the NAPPS, Malam Ja’afaru Yusuf Riyoji said in a statement on Wednesday that after due investigation from the Sabo Division chairman, they found out that the suspect is not a registered member of the association.

The Chairman also expressed doubt that the school owned by the alleged rapist is registered with the Quality Assurance Authority, saying that It’s not in the character of its members to engage in such unethical conduct.
According to Malam Ja’afaru, “such behaviour is unethical, immoral and is condemned by all NAPPS members. The matter should immediately be investigated and the culprit should be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others.

“Government need to strengthen our Association and make it self regulating in order to screen and fish out undesirable elements in the profession. NAPPS is in total support of the immediate action taken by the Kaduna state government,” he said
