Amaechi turns 50, inaugurates NUJ secretariat, others

All is now set for the commissioning of the NUJ ultra-modern secretariat by the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, today in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, to mark the 50th birthday anniversary of Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

According to a release issued by the Secretary, Committee of Friends to the Governor and Commissioner for Commerce and Industries, Mr Chuma Chinye, other projects to be commissioned included Port Harcourt-Owerri Expressway, Ubima Fish farm, Modern Secondary School, Tai and Greater Port Harcourt Infrastructure.

Other programmes billed to mark the occasion are a public lecture and a premier film titled: “The Dynamics of Change” said to showcase the governor’s activities and achievements in office.
The statement said: “The ceremonies are befitting tributes to selfless and committed service of governor Amaechi not only to Rivers state, but the nation in general.” The committee urged the good people of Rivers State to participate in the events and show the usual Rivers hospitality to all the guests of the governor.”
Highlight of the event is a thanksgiving mass at Corpus Christi Cathedral in Port Harcourt.
