2023 Women’s Afrobasket: Senegal coach talks tough ahead of D’Tigress clash

Senegal coach Moustapha Gaye has admitted that Nigeria’s D’Tigress are very good but insists that they are ready to fight for the title.

Senegal on Thursday defeated Mali to reach the final and set up a clash against Nigeria who earlier defeated the host Rwanda in its semi final.

Gaye while speaking ahead of the final, said they have an argument to put forward against Nigeria.

” We are preparing against a very good team. Some said Nigeria came without its stars but the team I saw is capable.

“However, I wish them to lose in the final. It’s a great team but we’re going to fight and do everything to win.

“We are in the final and we came to win. Senegal has arguments to put forward. It’s going to be a very interesting final. May the best win. I hope it will be us”, he said.

The final game is slated for Saturday at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
