The cows arrested on the allegation that they were stolen, were later declared missing in its custody by the police. The matter was later taken to court where the court ordered that the cows be returned to the owners, an order which police is yet to carry out.

According to ACP Fana, justice has began already on the missing cows, as he has been assigned by the police high command to conduct a thorough investigation on the missing cows and the mystery behind their disappearance.

Blueprint gathered that outgoing Kaduna state Commissioner of Women A‎ffairs and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba was also at the meeting which started around 3:30 pm on Monday.

ACP Fana took the statement of the old man and the court order issued to police to release the cows to the owner, following which he assured the old man that justice will be done and whoever is found wanting in the disappearance of the cattle will be held accountable.  Hajiya Hafsat Baba, who had weeks ago petitioned the Inspector General of Police and Police Service Commission over the 30 missing cows, commended th‎e police for commencing the investigation into the issue.

“We were invited by the Area Commander alongside the old man who owned the missing cows to a meeting at his office because he was asked by the police authorities to investigation the issue thoroughly. He assured us that justice will be done and whoever is involved in the issue will be held responsible,” she said.
