Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency (ZEMA) has disbursed the sum of N16 million to 178 persons affected by a wind storm at Gada village of Bungudu local government area of the state.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Malam Atiku Sani, said field assessment of the disaster was undertaken by the agency to ascertain the extent of damage recorded in the village.
He noted that the cash assistance was to enable the affected persons to effect repairs and reconstructions of the destroyed properties.
Sani, however, called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of cash grant
In his response, Bungudu Council Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Nahuche, commended the state government for timely intervention on the disaster.
