As part of effort to provide succour to victims of fire disaster in four communities of Kubbai, Garin Kaduwa, Samo and Da’awa in Nangere local government area of Yobe state, the local government has donated and distributed relief materials worth hundreds of thousands to the victims.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries Wednesday, the acting chairman of the local government who is also the Director Personnel Management, Usman Hassan Makeri called on the communities affected to “consider the incident as an act of God and pray against future occurrence”.
Makeri, said the items are emergency relief materials from the local government pending another one from the state government. “We have written to the state government and we hope to get other relief materials from them very soon”.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Lawan Aliyu Chillariye thanked the local government for the intervention and prayed God to reward them abundantly.
Items donated include bags of maize, blankets, mats among others.
