Utterances: MACBAN calls for arrest, prosecution of Sunday Igboho 

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu  to arrest and prosecute Sunday Igboho for threatening to chase out all Fulani breeders in the South-west region .

A statement issued by the MACBAN National President, Alhaji Baba Othman Ngelzarma in Abuja, said the threat to the Fulanis amount to treason and is  unlawful .

The statement said, Nnamdi Kanu is being prosecuted for a similar offence why should Igboho be set free.

It could be recalled that a viral video trending on social media where Sunday Igboho made a statement in a palace of one of the Yoruba traditional rulers calling on all Fulani cattle breeders to leave the South-west region or he will use force to chase them out.

The statement further said that even though  Igboho is asking for Oduduwa republic but he souldn’t have made such a verbal threat.

The statement which read in part said, Sunday Igboho had allegedly shot one Idris Mohammed   to death recently in Iseyin Oyo state.

The national president of MACBAN said, the utterances of Sunday Igboho poses a grave national security threat, saying that such statement does not warrant Sunday Igboho to move freely, adding that his free movement amount to lawlessness and worsen the security situation in the country..

He said the Fulani breeders  Community in the South-west  are a peaceful and loving people who are doing things in an orderly manner as such should not be held responsible for crimes perpetrated by criminals within or outside their fold.

The Fulanis leader said  MACBAN will not tolerate the unjustifiable treatment of any of it’s members just because they are Fulani cattle breeders, saying Nigeria remains a single entity guided by constitution that gave the right to all citizens to live in any part of ygr country .

He said, Sunday Igboho should allow the Fulani cattle breeders  to do their business lawfully and as law abiding citizens  they should report all suspicious activities to the constituted authorities within their domain.
