Upgraded hospitals in Yobe to enjoy access roads soon

Yobe state government has ordered for the constructing of access roads in all the upgraded hospitals across the state. Governor Ibrahim Gaidam gave the directive recently while inspecting the completed Gaidam hospital which cost the government over N500 million. According to him, the major hospitals to benefi t from the access roads are Gaidam General Hospital as well as the ones in Potiskum and Gashua. “Having spent this huge amount money on the three hospitals, we have to provide access roads to ease navigation within the hospitals,” he said Th e hospitals in Gaidam and Gashua, according to him, will benefi t from two kilometres of road and drainages, while the one in Potiskum will be provided with two and a half kilometres of road and drainages.

“Th e hospitals in Gashua and Gaidam will get two kilometers of road and drainages while the Potiskum hospital will benefi t from two and a half kilometers of road and drainages being a bigger hospital.” Earlier, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mohammed Bello Kawuwa, had informed the governor that rehabilitation of the Gaidam hospital cost government over N510, 889, 766, 48. He expressed happiness that construction of a borehole amounting to N27 million which was approved by the state executive council had commenced and assured that it would tackle the problem of water in the hospital.
