Group takes medicare to Kaduna community

The African Natural Resources and Mines Limited (ANRML), a company of the African Industries Group (AIG), recently conducted a “Health Checkup and Medicine Distribution” Camp for the people of its Host Community in Gujeni Village, Kaduna state. This was part of a week-long set of Social Impact activities undertaken by the company on the occasion of “World Health Day”.

A statement from the company, signed by ANRML Public Relations Officer, Mr. Babatunde Olanrewaju Akeem, said the main objectives of the camp focused mainly on the local community were to provide medical care and treatment; create awareness and educate people about healthcare; identify and address health issues in a community; promote preventive healthcare and reduce the incidence of diseases and finally provide access to medical care and treatment to people who cannot afford it.

The camp was organized by ANRML and was completely managed by inhouse doctors. More than 200+ people mostly women, children and elderly benefited from the camp.

The team of doctors and medical staff from ANRML undertook health checkups of individuals to know about their medical history, current ailments and prescribe the right medicines and lifestyle improvements. 

The local leaders also graced the event and took part in the initiative.

The company distributed medicines to locals as well. The community was appreciative of the company for the camp and also expressed hope that more such camps and activities will be conducted for their benefit.


Happy Dendlame, a beneficiary from local community said “I want to appreciate ANRML for their support with free medical checkup and free medication. The company is trying for community and shown us that our health is their concern. So may God bless the company and reward them”

For the Gujeni community, ANRML has also undertaken other initiatives like digging boreholes with overhead tank facility for drinking water, installing transformers and electric poles for electricity and laying of rural road with concrete culverts for transportation among various other things.
