Atter throwing out the petition of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) for abuse of court process, incompetent and lacking in merit, the tribunal has commenced judgment in the petition filed by Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
Obi, in his petition is seeking the nullification of the February 25, 2023 election that was won by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as President.
Obi, the petitioner alleged among other allegations irregularities and substantial non-compliance with the electoral laws.
The LP candidate who claimed to have scored majority of the lawful votes cast at the polls accused the electoral umpire of manipulating the process in favour of Tinubu.
Recall that the five-man panel led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, had on August 1, adjourned for Judgment after taking final submissions from all parties in the suit.
The judgment of the tribunal is being delivered by Justice Abba Mohammed.
